VINCENT 2006
For the last day of Boy Scouts, the Ceremony of Honors was held, where I became a "Second class scout". I am also a patrol leader now. You know, being almost adult is really something; I can go to bed whenever I like (my mother goes often before me) but what I really don't like now, is my mother who wants to hug me all the time. Especially in school this is absolutely not done, and she does not seem to understand. I would almost think she did it on purpose.
In June 2006, we were in the middle of the World Cup football. To the disgust of my mother, football was everywhere, even in Bangladesh. She thought she had escaped by moving here. Luckily this was not the case, and we could watch the match everywhere, at home, in the Dutch Club, in the restaurants, in the windows of shops. A friend of ours came from the Netherlands, and she brought all this orange stuff. Teb with his orange lion suit (with tail and all) attracted a lot of attention.
Then it was on to the Netherlands, where I enjoyed amusement parks, cinema, skateboarding, cycling and playing outside. We also went fishing. It was a perfect day, as it was raining cats and dogs. The plastic coat, which we had to buy on the spot, did not really help. We fished in a pond, where the management artificially grew trout. I did not catch one fish even, and not for lack of trying. But no sweat, because I hate fish for dinner!
Between the Netherlands and Bangladesh, we made a stopover on Langkawi. We did lots of swimming and water sports and a little sight seeing as well. We also went snorkeling for one day and saw real black tip sharks.
