Churros

 

Beat the egg whites until they are fluffy, using an electrical mixer. Slowly add the sugar, keep mixing; after that, slowly add the red currant juice while mixing. Spoon the mixture in a glass or on top of a beschuit, decorate with a berry or a little jam.

Bring 1 cup of water to the boil with the butter. Add the flour and keep stirring over low heat until the batter becomes a ball. Take the pan off the heat and stir in the eggs one by one. Make small forms using a piping bag and deep-fry them until the are golden brown. Melt the chocolate with the cream. Dust the churros with icing sugar and dip them into the chocolate mixture.
