Babka

  • 6 POTATOES, grated
  • 2 ONIONS, cleaned and chopped
  • 100 GRAM BACON, cubed
  • 3 EGGS
  • 1 TBSP FLOUR
 
  • 400 GRAM BLACK EYED PEAS OR OTHER BEANS, soaked for 2 hours
  • 1 CHILI PEPPER, chopped
  • 1 ONION, chopped
  • 1 EGGS

Stir fry the bacon and onion for 5 minutes. Mix it with the other ingredients. Spoon the mixture into a greased oven dish and bake it for 45 minutes in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.

Grind the beans in a food processor. Add the chilies and onions and whisk this mixture for a couple of minutes. Add the egg and salt to taste and whisk a few minutes more. Make portions with a tablespoon and deep fry them in a layer of hot oil. Serve with chili sauce.
