Cheese straws

 

Ta'amiya
Falafel

  • 125 GRAM BUTTER
  • 200 GRAM FLOUR
  • 100 GRAM CHEESE, grated
  • 1/2 TSP SALT
 
  • 1 CAN OF CHICKPEAS (400 gram)
  • 2 TBSP GREEN CORIANDER, chopped
  • 1 TBSP MINT, chopped
  • 1 CLOVE GARLIC, mashed
  • 2 TBSP BREADCRUMBS
  • 1 TSP CUMIN SEEDS
  • PEPPER AND SALT

Mix all ingredients well together to a dough. Roll it out on a floured board and cut long thin strips. Bake 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Watch closely as they burn easily.

Grind the chickpeas in a food processor and mix them with all other ingredients. Make eight balls out of this mixture and put them in the fridge for an hour. Fry them until golden brown, 4 minutes per side. Serve with pita and garlic sauce.
