Berlinerkranser

  Amadeus cookies

  • 250 GRAM FLOUR
  • 200 GRAM BUTTER, soft
  • 2 EGGS
  • 100 GRAM SUGAR
  • 1 TSP ORANGE RIND

Make dough out of flour, butter, one egg, 75 gram sugar and orange rind and refrigerate this for one hour. Roll small pieces out to pencil like pieces and fold them as in the picture; press the joint with your thumb. Brush them with egg white and sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Bake them 10-15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

Berlinerkranser are in fact not German, but Norwegian cookies, which are served for Christmas. But who knows, the recipe may have been imported from Berlin at a certain time by Father Christmas, when he was still alive.

Mix the flour, the sugar and the egg and knead well. Refrigerate the dough for one hour and roll it out. Cut round cookies with a glass. Mix the almond paste with the liqueur and distribute this over half of the cookies, put the other cookies on top. bake the cookies 12-15 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius. Melt the chocolate with the cream. Allow the cookies to cool down and dip them in the chocolate, cool down for one hour.
