In Scandinavia, the winters are long and cold and therefore, the people love to celebrate spring and summer with delicious food. Norway has a very long coast line with the famous fjords. Fish is popular like in other Scandinavian countries. But also moose is served, and sheep, or at least used to be served. The Norwegians are fond of the fresh berries (red currants, raspberries, blueberries and cranberries to name a few), which grow abundantly, and you will find them back in many desserts. Sour cream is also often used. Furthermore salmon, cod, herring, anchovies and dried fish, which used to be especially convenient in the long winter. |
