  • 1/2 TBSP SALT
  • FRYING OIL

Bring 1 liter water to the boil with salt to taste. Put the potatoes in, add the cabbage after 5 minutes, add the green beans and pumpkin yet another 5 minutes later. Cook this 5 minutes more, add the bean sprouts for one minute and drain the water. For the dressing, stir the peanut butter together with the tamarind juice, the coconut, the shrimp paste and the sambal and a few tablespoons water. Put the vegetables in a bowl and pour the dressing on top.

This is a Sundanese recipe from West-Java.

Dry the garlic slices with a piece of tissue. Heat a layer of 2 centimeters oil in a frying pan to about 170 degrees and fry the garlic until golden brown. Watch closely because they burn easily. Put them on a piece of tissue for a few minutes and sprinkle with salt. Great side dish for all Indonesian recipes.
