Alcazar pie

Christmas marzipan cake

Make a dough of 125 gram flour, 100 gram butter and the sugar. Roll it out and line a oven dish with it. Make holes with a fork, cover with the ginger jam and put in the fridge for half an hour. In the meantime beat the egg whites until fluffy, slowly add the powdered sugar while beating. Put the mixture in the microwave at 600 Watt for 30 seconds, beat 20 seconds, repeat this process twice. Now stir in the almond paste, the orange liqueur and the rest of the flour, melt the rest of the butter and stir it in. Pour the mixture on the dough. Bake the pie 35 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius.

Slice the pound cake horizontally. Distribute the cream over the lower half, spoon the jam on top. Put the upper half on top. Take two portions of 25 gram marzipan, color one red and one green. Roll out the rest of the marzipan in a circle, with a diameter a little larger than the cake, and fold around the cake. Make Christmas tree and ribbon shapes from the colored marzipan.

Tip: If you heat the marzipan in the microwave for 10-20 seconds, it is easier to work with.
