  • 4 TBSP FLOUR
  • 100 GRAM SUGAR
  • 4 EGGS, split
  • 1 LEMON, juice and rind
  • 2 CUPS YOGURT

Beat the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar for a few minutes; add the eggs one by one, keep whisking; finally add the orange rind, juice and flour and stir. Distribute the batter over 3 greased round cake molds and bake these 20 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius. Spread half of the marmalade over the first cake, put the second one on top, spread the remainder of the marmalade over it and finish off with the last cake. Dust with icing sugar.

On 22 June, El Salvador celebrates Teacher's Day, following the UNESCO recommendation and the World Teachers' Day on 5 October. Click on culinary calendar for more links between cooking and history.

Whisk the egg whites until fluffy. Whisk the yolks with the sugar and the lemon rind for 3 minutes. Add the lemon juice and flour, stir. Fold in the egg white. Spoon the batter into a greased baking mold. Bake the cake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
