Frikadel with cherry sauce

Swedish meatballs

  • 500 GRAM MINCED BEEF
  • 4 TBSP BREAD CRUMBS
  • 1 ONION, chopped
  • 1 EGG
  • 1/2 TSP NUTMEG, grated
  • 250 GRAM SOUR CHERRIES, pitted
  • 6 TBSP SUGAR
 
  • 500 GRAM MINCED BEEF
  • 1 ONION, chopped
  • 1 LARGE POTATO, peeled and cooked
  • 2 TBSP BREAD CRUMBS
  • 1 EGG
  • 6 TBSP CREAM

Stir fry the onion 3 minutes. Mix the beef with the egg, the bread crumbs, the onion, nutmeg and salt and pepper to taste and form 20 small hamburger like flat balls. Fry them 7 minutes on each side/ In the mean time, add the sugar and 1 cup of water to the cherries, bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve the frikadels with the cherry sauce. Eat with white bread.

Puree the potato and fry the onion 3 minutes and mix these with the minced beef, bread crumbs, egg, pepper and salt to taste and 3 tablespoons cream. Form 24 small balls. Fry these 10 minutes on all sides, add the remaining cream and simmer for 5 minutes.
